You can never go wrong with JBL. I have had multiple speakers over time (own 2 now). I have never personally owned this speaker, but my friend has it and it does the job. If you just chilling in your garage or backyard doing some work it is great. Even if your having a pool day. It gets plenty loud!
I bought this exactly a year ago and returned because it wasn't loud enough and keeps rolling off. I settled with Tribit instead. it was about $100 cheaper at that time and bass is really good. The only issue is heavy.
JBL offerings are too overpriced for what they offer imo. You can find comparable or better speakers for less. If you're looking for a speaker in this form factor I'd look at the Tribit StormBox Pro. It has pretty much 1:1 feature parity with this JBL, but the sound quality is superior (opinion). I've tried both systems side-by-side and the StormBox Pro has a generally richer and more full sound with bass to back it up. The realm of portable Bluetooth speakers is rife with contention and reading opinions of them from randos on the internet only makes things more confusing, so take my 2ยข with a grain of salt.

Rtings review says it lacks bass and the JBL boombox series is better (although it's way more now)
Thanks for posting. I thought about it for a while but I think I'll pass.
I need something for softball walk up songs that get loud and small.
