I like EV's a lot (currently own 2)… rented a Polestar 2 for a week while traveling and really hated it. Felt super small inside and did not make good use of the interior space like most other EV's do. We had heard good things about Polestars and were surprised how much we didn't like it. It was such a treat to return home to our Bolt EUV.

I rented a 2021 Polestar 2 from Hertz last year in London for 12 days and they had a deal making them cheaper than renting ICE vehicles. We chose the Polestar (instead of the Tesla Model 3) since they have the Google Maps integrated Driver Display which is also replicated in the center console to navigate the complex roundabouts on UK roads. You'd get that only in a Tesla Model X and Model S.

After driving a 2000-mile cross country across UK, Scotland and Wales during those 12 days, I'd pick a Polestar 2 anyday than a Tesla Model 3 or Y. The ride quality is great and we got about 270 miles on a full charge. Charging from 20%-80% took about 25 mins at a 50 Khw charger.

Unfortunately, too many Tesla fanboys keep threadcapping every EV deal here about how good Tesla's are and I've heard a few of my friends complain about the quality of their Tesla only after they had quite a few drinks !!

There's no planet upon which Polestar tech is superior to Tesla, which has a 10-year advantage on the competition. But you keep telling yourself that if that's what helps you sleep at night.
The wild thing to me is that I brutally dispise Elon musk, but the number of people in this thread that think I'm some sort of fanboy for saying Tesla's tech is better is insane. The Tesla just has way more processing power, a bigger screen, and runs way smoother. Go lookat the polestar subreddit, they will tell you this all day long. This polestar is probably still 5 years back. It's sad because as much as I liked the P2, the infotainment was just a hangup.

There is no way you charged from 20% to 80% in 25 min at a 50 Khw charger.

Curious - have you driven a Tesla?

Oh, is this today's EV thread for everyone to downvote?

If I had a good use case, I'd be 100% Polestar for an EV. Solid cars at a good price.
I daily a model 3 performance and rode in my co-worker's polestar 2. I was very impressed with the build quality and just how solidly built it felt, in that respect it blows my 3 out of the water.

I have a MY and I always rent a Polestar on my trips to London. They are both decent cars. The Polestar does feel a tiny bit more cramped, the infotainment is great, like any car, you just have to get used to it. I would say the autopilot is not even close to a Tesla. The 360 degree vision and parking cameras however knocks the spots off a Tesla. I think as an overall package, a Tesla is better, but I would buy a P2 anyday, if the price is right.
My comparison is to a Model Y not a Model 3. Space wise there is little or no difference with a M3

How about its insurance cost for normal married people? I was told EVs insurance costs much more than ICEs.

I wish this was true. Was able to take this on a road trip for a week and also a model 3 for another week and decided on model 3 by a long mile.
What did you not like about the Polestar? I'm curious because some people also want to know so we can compare.

As opposed to abnormal unmarried people? Almost all insurance companies allow you to quote a new vehicle online/in-app/over the phone. Why not try it and see the precise answer?

If you lease a car and the company goes out of business at some point during the lease do you get to keep it?
