I like EV's a lot (currently own 2)… rented a Polestar 2 for a week while traveling and really hated it. Felt super small inside and did not make good use of the interior space like most other EV's do. We had heard good things about Polestars and were surprised how much we didn't like it. It was such a treat to return home to our Bolt EUV.

Neither imo.
lmao, Tesla is generating a fat profit on each car.

plus their energy business is growing faster than their car business.

This is very competitive with the model 3. The build quality and NVH is much much better, tech is a bit worse. The Plus and Pilot packages are must-haves and are both 'included' in the base model 3 DMLR.
Model 3 win this big.

Model 3 standard range RWD is 270 miles and cost 39k.

This Polestar "long range" is 247 miles. Actual mile will be a lot less. MSRP is 65k. You get a "discount" and drop this to 58k. I don't see how this worth 20k more.

I'm seeing something like this on their website as well. I was told it should only add about $20 by the dealer. I'll talk to the dealership again to verify.
Thanks!

So maybe obvious, but absolutely test drive a Polestar 2 with your family. I found they look/drive nice with all the features I wanted, but for a bunch of six-footers it was downright claustrophobic inside and the back seats are tiny. There's this weird choice Polestar made to pad everything out so you feel like you're inside a Reebok Pump shoe where everybody else seemingly went to maximize cabin space. Also, if you don't mind used, at least last year there were a ton of cheap Polestar 2s available thanks in large part to Hertz dumping them. We ultimately went EV6, but the Polestar 2 was in the final running for a while.

The wife has a newer model Accord and I can see the split of insurance rates between mine and hers. Replacing my car with a new Accord should add about $200.
When I called Progressive to get a quote, the lady on the other side did mention that EVs are more expensive to fix so the rates have been higher (she mentioned Teslas, but I'm guessing she meant to say EVs)
Keep in mind, that is an insurance company telling you that. They want to maximize premium and minimize claims. Core business model.

Yes, they cost more to repair. But did the lady on the other side also mention that Teslas are the safest cars in the world, with an across the board 5 star safety rating for all categories and sub-categories, and active safety features that significantly reduce the chance of accident, and reduce the chance of hitting a pedestrian? No, probably not. They don't want to say that and give you a discount.

TCAM Issues
The most common problem that Polestar 2 owners have reported since its release has to do with its TCAM or Telematics and Connectivity Antenna Module.
As the name implies, the TCAM handles all of the car's networking and communication features such as:
GPS and navigation
Cellular connection and data
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
Key fob

You clearly didn't trace back who is the real owner. And I am not just talking about Geely
Let me guess, you're going to say China. You're not clever by phrasing it the way you do.

China doesn't need Geely. They have a ton of EV options there. This narrative that China is funding these companies is hilarious and mostly based on ignorance.

Does China help the EV industry and domestic EV producers? Yes. But they're not saving bad businesses, which Polestar is. Just because it's owned by Geely doesn't change that fact.

Because you don't understand how a lease works.
How about you calculate what is the actual cost over 27 months?

Who talks about MSRP, MSRP is only a factor in the cost of ownership. With huge rebates, MSRP means nothing.

let me just say that unless an earthquake in China's leadership, Geely won't fail, as well as Polestar.

Tesla's were cheaper for me with just liability than my previous vehicle which was a Toyota Corolla.

The adjuster said the Tesla's have safety features that makes an accident less likely.

The issue is repairing a Tesla is a lot more expensive because there's a lack of repair shops who can work with Tesla's and the battery has to be taken care with using more precaution.

So if I had opted for collision as well, it would have been more expensive than my previous insurance.

Let me just say you're just refusing to spit it out because you don't really have a single clue of what you're talking about. Waste of time having a 'discussion' with you. Bro acting like this is a Who wants to be a millionaire contest.

Well, I know what I am talking about and it's not a secret in China. In fact , Reuters post a statement to clarify the rumor under pressure, but the rumor is true.
