How do folks who have CSR or CSP feel about Chase's travel portal? I find that while I can get a 50% bonus on point redemption, the stuff is usually marked up a bit so that I'm not getting that amazing of a deal in reality. For example, the price might be 10% higher than I could get on Priceline or directly through the airline/rental car company/hotel, so it makes it more like a 35% bonus.
For me, the math on the CSR is becoming hard to justify. The lounge benefit is losing restaurants, the annual fee increased, I don't get a ton of value out of the DoorDash benefit. This is probably my last year, but I might be enticed by another signup bonus like this.
i hardly if ever book directly on the travel portal, not great value because like you said, prices arent the most competitive. i typically use it to transfer points to air france or southwest if i see a good deal with the airlines directly.

I signed up for CSP when it was 60k, as my SOuthwest card no longer made sense to keep.
One perk that led me to do it, which I haven't seen mentioned, is this is one of the few remaining cards that adds an extra year of warranty to purchases.
I have good experience w portal. sometime the tickets are sold out via kayak sites but available in chase or capital one.
I have purchased international air in both portals recently when they were not shown via kayak etc
Assuming you received your last Sapphire bonus more than 48 months ago, your option is either cancel that one or downgrade it to a Freedom - and wait about 2 weeks before applying.

I remember someone mentioning here that it's 48 months from the time bonus was received ( so if I got my bonus in July 2020 statement), I need to wait till July or August 2024 right?

What do I and whoever refers me get for me getting this card via a referral link?
You'd get 75k points, and the referrer gets 10k points. This is just based on me copy pasting my own referral link to see what the bonus offer looks like.
I just got approved for this and already have the Freedom Unlimited. Would cashback be better on all things with the Sapphire Preferred or is there a way to compare the 2 based on what I'm using them on? Thanks

Freedom Unlimited = 1.5x points on everything
Sapphire Preferred = 3x points on dining, online grocery, streaming, 2x points on travel, 1x points on other purchases.
You got me excited because I fly Southwest a lot and that could be good for me, but Chase Points->SW Points is only a 1.1 transfer. I get hung up on trying to get the best possible efficiency from my CSR points, as that's the only way I can justify the high fee.
Back in the day, I flew more, rented cars more, and stayed in hotels more. There are nice travel benefits on the CSR that I haven't used as often since the pandemic and since my daughter was born.
I justify the fee a lot of other ways. (DoorDash on occasion, Lyft, etc is nice, but the $300 travel credit, $100 GE credit, and Priority Pass access are worth it to us.)
We booked through the portal for the first time recently - family of 4 to Japan for 133k miles + $1000. It was easier and the price was comparable to us transferring points, especially since Singapore Air has a delay on point transfer, and I got 5x points on that $1000 in the portal.

For whatever reasons my round trips from Europe to the US were cheaper through chase travel than anything I've see on skyscanner, google.flights and the carriers itself. My last round trip was around 10% lower through chase travel as any other price online. Not even considered using any points. It worked for me for 2 round trips so far.
