Very strange mixed results in this house. Went with the Watermelon burst. Myself and my son are very sensitive to "diet" drinks and fake sweetner taste. We both thought this was the best tasting energy drink ever. It literally tastes like you are drinking Sandia juice if you've ever had it. Imagine packing a blender full of Watermelon and juicing it. Awesome stuff with no fake taste at all...to us.

My wife who only drinks diet drinks, 3 of her female co-workers, my daughter and daughter-in-law, all thought it tasted like fake sweetner with barely any watermelon flavor.

Results seem to be mixed by gender in this house in a very odd way. I can't stomach the taste of diet drinks and tasted no aspartame like properties in this at all, where as my wife sucks down diet drinks all day long and thought it only tasted like aspartame. I can't explain it.

I'm going to try the black cherry from my other Amazon account, but the men here highly recommend the watermelon burst while the women say avoid it at all costs.

The sweeteners in these are sucralose (aka Splenda, 600x sweeter than sugar) and acesulfame-K (also in Coke Zero and other diet drinks, 200x sweeter than sugar). I'm not aware of any taste differences in regards to the sweeteners and biological sex so it's probably just an issue with the taste of one of those sweeteners for that small group but I'm curious if there is any research on that.

My wife only uses Splenda if she sweetens something and prefers Coke Zero to Diet Coke. That makes it even more interesting that she finds this so overpowering with fake sweetener taste. They all definitely have different tastes with Splenda not having the typical "diet" taste to me depending on what it is in. While I don't mind Splenda in some things I don't like Coke Zero. I find this to have no artificial taste.

FYI the "brain and body variety pack" is half C4 smart energy and half "yellow can" C4.

The yellow can has beta alanine and is more of a pre-workout type drink.

Smart energy has citicoline.

Costco has started selling a 15 can variety pack of C4 Smart Energy for $18.99 around here. This is a little cheaper per can with the coupon.

I'm hooked on sucralose. Sugar is soda just tastes off to me. I'll probably grow another arm in 25 years but I'll still be fit.
