The RX 7800 XT is the fastest GPU you can buy new for under $500. With 16GB of VRAM, IT handily outperforms the more expense RTX 4070 which only has 12GB of VRAM. Outstanding 1440p GPU.

I tried to hold the lime, but I bit on a 7900xtx a while back from this same manufacturer. Got it for Starfield, didn't play it yet.
Sorry I let you down guys. I find comfort in not seeing too many deals for them.

Some people may need one now due to hardware failure. So posting deals, even if not that great, are always appreciated. Otherwise I agree, the price trend is down. waiting is probably worth it.

Sold my 3 fan 6800 xt card in the hopes purchasing 2 fan new 7800 xt card that uses less energy. Price is a little high for me. Looking more towards 420 or less price.

But you can get a 6800 XT used that is almost 100% the same performance for 350 to 400 used.

You can. That's why I specified "new". There are always less expensive options on the used market. Many people are not comfortable with buying used components and prefer to have a warranty. Not to mention that the RX 7800 XT is a little faster, has newer architecture, and is more power efficient.

Just make sure you wait 8 years from purchase or the card DIES... before thinking sbout the next one these greedy mfg know nothing but taking advantage of the consumer for at least 3 generations of consumers.

it's like a 10 watt difference and you could've undervolted. Not worth the hassle

I've told myself before I will buy the 6900 when it is 550, then the 6950 went down to 530 for two weeks till they went out of stock, now I am waiting for the 7900 gre to go down, I bet if it go goes down, I will start to wait for the xtx to go 600

I have a 6800XT in my son's computer and a 4070 in mine. In many benchmarks, the 6800XT wins. Additionally, the 6800XT is surprisingly frugal with its power budget. It's a great card. The 7800XT is even better.

But… I'd take the 4070. DLSS is worth it in the games I play.
