I just finished a bottle of these caplets and it gave me bad gas throughout. I switched to a capsule and will start taking those next week. Many reviews say these worked well for them, and I kept believing if I just took them long enough my stomach would settle but nope. But they might work better for you, just my experience.

I also thought probiotics needed to be refrigerated.

Appears so.

"Storage and expiration information

Pay close attention to the label and how your probiotics should be stored. Generally, you'd want to keep them refrigerated (and make sure the place you're buying them from does the same). Heat can kill off the microorganisms in your probiotics if they're not stored correctly."

From the product page: "Probiotics can be stored at room temperature, though refrigeration after opening is recommended to help maintain potency. This product contains Lactobacillus acidophilus, a strain that is naturally found in the intestinal tract."

Some probiotic products (like NOW brand) are labelled "shelf stable" so not sold refrigerated.

At Walmart the most popular probiotic seems to be Physicians Choice brand. The capsules cost about 60-cents apiece, but they're labeled 50-billion which means a single Physicians Choice capsule is equivalent to five bottles of these Nature's Bounty capsules. I have relatives who swear by those.

Agreed. A variety from various food sources like sauerkraut, kimchi, yogurt, sour cream, natto etc is probably worth considering as well.

This two-pack has 200 capsules for $7.15 (0.03575 ea). The BOGO deal from Kroger is 240ct for $11.99 (0.04996 ea). That's a 40% increase in price.

They could end up the same if the $3 off 2 applied to it, but their system doesn't count free items for digital coupons.

Yea. Nuts to science. Especially the Cleveland clinic. Whoever heard of them anyways
