I haven't had had much chance to stress it so far, but in general use the fans barely run at all. I'll soon find out how noisy it gets when building a Lightroom catalog or rendering a video.
My only real annoyance is that at the original price point the updated 4050 GPU should have been included - they aren't going to compete with the Samsung Book4 Ultra using a two year old GPU. But at this discounted price I'm OK with it.
I needed to update my Command Center first. I also needed to remember which driver to download. After an install and reboot, I did as you suggested. I also changed "Power Efficiency" to "3". It no longer dims when on battery. Nice!
And at worst I have 90 days to change my mind and get something with a better GPU and/or cooling. But as my most demanding apps are the occasional Lightroom and Photoshop I should be OK.
