Ordered an AM4 combo for my daughter to pick up for me on her drive home from school later this week - got scared off of AM5 setups by comments in buildapc - am I being overly cautious? 5800x3d, 32gb ram .... not much cheaper than this

I have this same combo, and initially, I had issues with constant crashing. Ultimately disabling the CPU boosting setting that was enabled by default in the bios resolved it.

I just build a AM5 combo with no issues at all. All the issues at launch should have been resolved with the latest bios. I did make sure to update the bios to the latest version before starting the install / build.

I didn't get this deal, but I bought my 7700X with the same RAM and an ASRock PG Lightning on AM5 launch day. Never had issues. Remember that you can get another 5-10% off these prices by using the Microcenter credit card.
