There are various answers to that in the Amazon review comments. Currently this is a couple bucks less than the batteries and charger alone. I bought it for the batteries and the chainsaw just sweetens the deal.

I have a greenworks pole saw and 12 inch chainsaw. Both work surprisingly well

I bought this when they had a lot of open box for $90, just so i could get the batteries.

the 4amp batteries are no joke. You will get well over 100 cuts of a 4x4 treated lumber. And based on youtube tests, it comes in second in cut speed. You need the $$$ stihl to beat this.

A few issues.
1) it likes to pop the chain on sub 1/2" very green brush, so dont be mowing down bushes with it.
2) all the chain oil will leak out. For some reason this is by design. So i would load her up with crisco and then pour it out at the end of the day.
