Well, not this bike specifically. Any self respecting dentist has a SirVelo with Dura Ace. This is for lowly regarded interns.
I've had some decent Iron Horse, Diamond back, and Raleigh $300 bikes that lasted years...., they're good enough for most people that occasionally ride.

The cheaper $100-$200 bikes (Kent/ Huffy) don't last. they will break during normal use in a couple years....it happened to me. I will never trust them again. Frames break and random parts snap. No way I'd bomb down a hill on one. They're dangerous.

My full suspension mtb santacruz was $3k and lasted 20 years ...used 3x a week over rough trails....I only had to replace normal wear items like the chain, tires, and brake pads.

If you ride a lot you'll want to invest in a quality bike. Used is always an option.
I'm sure it's a good bike, but for normally being $6300, it should have a little upgrade from the 105 DI, maybe Ultegra Di ? here's a bike with 105 DI for $3000 https://www.bikesonline.com/polyg...-road-bike

Good question… any DDS's here at SD that may be able to answer this?

Agreed. Only thing I can think of is carbon wheel (albeit these are not really that deep).

This is the new price for 105 level race road bikes. For example, the specialized Aethos and SL7 Comp are now $4k instead of $5500

Just add "Wal-Mart" to your bike deal alert. that should accomplish the same thing.

Thank you for that info! I really just want to ride through the neighborhood with the kids, no bombing hills in my future. I will look for Iron Horse, Diamond Back and Raleigh

I had a $100 WalMart bike I bought in 2003, surprisingly still works.
