Edit: I've personally traded in several devices (phones and watch) in Mountain View. In all instances they physically took the device and gave me credit instantly. I can't personally vouch for the other stores.

Only makes sense if you are agnostic to the platform and don't mind a newer tablet although with Android.
Still a good deal if you're trading in one of the older-listed ipads & upgrading to the Pixel tablet for $100.
