Negative, I've bought and picked up like 10+ Pixel phones at google stores with trade-in the past few years and they've always sent me a seperate box that I need to ship out for the trade-in.

If you happen to live near a physical Google Store, you can do the trade-in instantly in person so no delays or risks. NYC, Boston, and Mountain View.

Edit: I've personally traded in several devices (phones and watch) in Mountain View. In all instances they physically took the device and gave me credit instantly. I can't personally vouch for the other stores.

This is a no brainer for trading in my ipad air 3rd gen 64gb i recently picked up for $89 because it has an lcd bright spot that comes and goes. I'm grabbing the standalone tablet so it's a direct trade outside of taxes.

Hmm, I've had the opposite experience. I've traded in several devices (phones and watches) at the Google Store in Mountain View and they physically accept the device and give me credit on the spot.
