Negative, I've bought and picked up like 10+ Pixel phones at google stores with trade-in the past few years and they've always sent me a seperate box that I need to ship out for the trade-in.

If you happen to live near a physical Google Store, you can do the trade-in instantly in person so no delays or risks. NYC, Boston, and Mountain View.

Edit: I've personally traded in several devices (phones and watch) in Mountain View. In all instances they physically took the device and gave me credit instantly. I can't personally vouch for the other stores.

so let's say I send in my iPad 6 gen to Google and somehow they say that it's not good or not a iPad 6th gen. can I request to get a refund for my Google pixel tablet? no way am I wanting to pay $399?

The more I read online the more I get scared them denying my claim for whatever reason.

You will be past your return window, so you will be out $400 + tax, plus your iPad. Then you'll need to deal with Google's terrible customer service. This is the only reason I am not doing this deal. If I really needed that Pixel Tablet, I might take the risk, but it is something I absolutely don't need and will be nothing more than a toy, so no risking $500 (including the price of a used iPad). I am happy with my Lenovo P11 Pro Gen 2 (lighter, and has a 120Hz OLED display).
