Metro by T-Mobile has revised their Phone Unlock Policy [metrobyt-mobile.com], changing the previous unlock eligibility terms from 180 days after activation to 365 days after activation.
Unlock eligibility requirements

We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:
  • The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
  • The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
  • Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation
The previous 180-day unlock policy was still in effect until at least 5/5/2024 as evidenced by an archived snapshot [archive.org] of the page.

Uncertainty exists whether the new terms apply to devices purchased before the policy change but not activated until after the policy change.

Geez. 6 months was bad enough. Let's hope VZW doesn't change.
