I have been looking for a Vitamix blender over the past several days. I considered this deal. Sam's didn't have it in store otherwise I probably would have got it.
I was also considering a refurb V1200 for $249 or a 5200 for $299 direct from Vitamix, plus $25 coupon discount. The Venturist V1200 and other Ascent models use the SELF DETECT containers so you're limited to their specific containers. The 5200 and explorian series doesn't have this. I preferred not having that so there's more flexibility in what containers I use. You can get around it with an NFC chip hack thing but I didn't want to bother.
The tall container on the 5200 seems to be consistently better in every review I read or watched. The downside is that it won't fit under your upper kitchen cabinets on the counter. That is annoying but I have a space where it will fit in my kitchen.
The low profile 64oz requires a larger batch to blend properly. The tall 64oz is more flexible in blending small batches as well as large. You can get a 48oz low profile container that is more similar to the bottom of the tall 64oz. The 48oz comes with the e310.
Anyway, I did more research on blenders in the past few days than I care to admit. Lol
I've been a VM owner for 30 years and had several models over the years. I got a deal on one of the E series last year. I used it for all of a day or 2 and returned it. SOOOO loud and vibrated all over the counter top and I feared if I walked away it would fall onto to floor.
all VM models are not created the same!
