Says it's USA version. I've ordered from GreenToe before, shipping address was from Adorama. I'm pretty sure it's just a MAP pricing thing. Retailer is willing to sell for cheaper price, but due to MAP agreement cannot advertise is directly as such.
I have this lens for my Sony a7III and it's great. For those unfamiliar with Greentoe just know that $649 is the price that you'll pay. They don't charge for tax or shipping. I buy most of my lenses through Greentoe.

Ignorant comment. Greentoe has a network of authorized dealers. I've bought 5 items from Greentoe over the years. Some of the items I've bought have come from one of the biggest sellers in NYC. And everything I've bought comes from authorized sellers.
Got this exact model lens from GT last year for around $670 shipped. It came from a reputable brick and mortar store (new USA version with full warranty and receipt from store). Not allowed to share the name of the store as it's against GT policy, but don't worry you will get a legit lens.
Fantastic lens. I bought this as the first lens for my A7iv and it produces great results. Very light lens to hold. Excellent in low light situations and can get away without a flash if necessary. Really sharp.

I haven't used Tamron 28-75mm, so cannot compare directly, but I love the Tamron 28-200 as everything and everyday lens. It does landscape very well and pretty good for street photography too. You can use it for occasional portraits and wildlife too, specially if you have a high megapixel Sony body that you can switch to APSC mode.
I travel with the 28-200mm and Samyang 45mm 1.8, but I never feel like switching to the Samyang. It's that good.

i also have a7iii, how do you like when shooting portraits? i was considering samyang 35 150mm but its too heavy.
Are lens still under warranty if purchase from GT? thanks
IMO yes - that said, when I bought mine I had an a6500. I knew that within the next two years I would want to upgrade to a full frame and ended up getting my a7III for $95 a few months later. I'm not saying to expect a PM (though you never know haha), but if there's any chance you'll upgrade to a full frame camera, you don't wan to have to re-buy the lens.
This confuses me. Even the 18-135 lens that came with my a6700 has a crop factor on that lens. So it's the equivalent of a 200mm zoom. But that's an apsc lens. So what differs with the crop factor between FF glass and apsc glass?
I'm a little surprised to see Greentoe not being censored out . I've been around since the old days when GT was used or VerdeFoot, etc since SD used to historically block the word and links to GT.

The benefit of an APSC lens is that they are typically smaller, lighter, and priced lower than their FF counterparts.
The difference is that an APSC lens will have major vignetting on a FF camera.
That is why it is recommended to buy FF lenses even if you are currently using an APSC camera. That way if you ever upgrade to a FF camera, you won't need to upgrade your lenses too.

That said, a full frame lens on the APS-C sensor will have a crop factor making it more zoomy essentially - https://www.reddit.com/r/photogra...with
