I noticed all the big retailers (Amazon & Best Buy) were discounting the Skylight 15" Calendar and Organizer down to $250 ($320 normally). I was planning to get it for our family for Mother's Day.

As of today, Costco brought their price to $229.99 but this also includes a free year of their Plus Membership ($40). The sale applies from 5/9/24 to 5/12/24

The Skylight's plus membership adds the ability to use it as a photo frame and a few other features (this is not needed for the core calendar feature)....but free is free!

All-In-One Smart Family Calendar
Skylight Calendar is a smart touchscreen display for all your calendar events, to-do's, grocery list, and chores to help you organize your family's busy schedule. It has a 15" touchscreen that displays in HD clarity making it a beautiful centerpiece for your home. It is the perfect size for a kitchen counter or can be mounted on a wall.

Includes one free year of Plus subscription, which turns your Skylight Calendar into a digital photo frame and access to features like Magic Import that seamlessly adds events into your device from emails or PDFs.

There's no subscription for the fancy calendar.

I'll agree with your general sentiment that this is a very niche product. It's nice for us because we have 4 kids and every day is busy….its hard to keep a kitchen whiteboard calendar updated for all to see (our kids don't have phones yet, and only 2 of them can read)….so this is an always-on calendar that syncs with our main Google calendars.

We have an Echo show and iPads….for the specific purpose above, they don't fit the need.

Thank you. I actually got this from Costco for Mother's Day a few days ago as my wife wanted it. Just ordered this one and will return the other unopened one and save $50

Yeah, not to crap on the deal, from a retail perspective, seems like a competitive price. But I'll never understand these "dedicated devices" that could have just been an app. You can get a generic android or fire tablet for under $100, add a stand and you have the same thing with a lot more versatility (YouTube, streaming, integrated shopping, Bluetooth audio connectivity, etc.) it's like that rabbit AI device. It's an app with some OS customizations. I don't get it.

Not trying to be a smartass, but honest question, how do they not fit the need? Ipad and fireos sync Google calendars natively last I checked and android tablets definitely do. Photo rotating screensaver apps are definitely available for android, not sure about fireos or iPad.

You can just ask them to do a price adjustment. No need to buy again and return.

Here's the link with more information. They do it within a few days online or immediately in store.
