Generally speaking, would swapping out a regular recessed light for this be about as complex as swapping out a light switch? I might do these.

Edit: I watched some youtube videos and it does indeed seem to be pretty straightforward.

I don't know anyone with a black celling. I guess you have one? If so, maybe order one set and see how easy it is to disassemble and see if the surrounding ring comes free and if so paint that sucker whatever color you want. If you're worried about potential warranty rejection maybe use Plastidip so It'll come right off
