Bad idea and worse for your ears. Better off with some sort of hearing protection. Either go cheap and buy ones that comfortable seal over some earbuds or get one with radio or Bluetooth capability. Don't fark with potential hearing loss

that dongle looks really wide .. anyone have experience with cases or desktops with like the recessed front ports? had that issue w/other USB-C headphone dongle

I bought a set of 3M Bluetooth WorkTunes for yardwork. I generally listen to podcasts so I can't comment on music quality. That said, that are comfortable, do a good job blocking noise, and sound fine. I don't think quality headphones in a noisy environment add anything.

Cost was significantly less than this deal

FYI I own these and they work decent. They will work on Xbox, PS5 and PC but keep in mind, if u use it on PS5 the integrated chat mix doesn't work...

Kind of frustrating because it states that it works for all 3 platforms which to me implies that all features work. But for integrated chat mix you need the version dedicated to PS5.

Otherwise they r pretty nice. Great battery life and you can connect to the dongle and a 2nd device via Bluetooth. Didn't realize how much I liked this feature til I started connecting my phone and receiving notifications while gaming.

Agree on the 3M Worktunes for mowing/snow-blowing/yard work. I'd been using a pair of Oddict Twig Pro earbuds with ANC but, in order to drown out the machine noise, I'd have to crank the volume up to max. At that point you're not saving your ears so much as just making sure you can hear your podcast. The Worktunes was a world of difference, drowns out the machine noise and allows you to keep the volume at reasonable levels for about $50.

4x works across all platforms and chat mix works on PC & Xbox but not PS5. When released the 4P model did not work on the Xbox because of a licensing issue but it did work on the PC. However, I think if you can connect to ps5 through 3.5mm jack, by wire or 3.5mm to bluetooth adapter. 4P also has chatmix for PS5.

As far as noise canceling and equalizer settings etc, you are pretty much limited to steel series gg software. There is lots of info on how to get much better settings than what you get out of the box.

For xbox/pc users the 7x is sold regularly as openbox on secondipity for $58. Nova 7 series has adds bluetooth connectivity. https://secondipity.com/open-box-...-series-x/ I might pickup a second pair of the 7x since they are so cheap, if your a ps5 user and don't care about chat mix, this is probably a better buy
