The quality has gone down hill, this is basically half mulch and dirt now. If you need to save money filling a large bed then at most id use it for the bottom layer. Use an equal mixture of peat moss, black kow and mini pine bark nuggets. 9 cubic feet will cost you $50 at Lowe's vs $30 of this garbage but will be MUCH better for your vegetables.

oops my mistake, these are 1 cubic feet bags not 0.75 so it would cost $22.5 for 9 cubic feet, but I stand by my word it's mostly junk now.

Huh. The drop-down for quantity only lets me choose 1, 2, or 3. The store is only 5 minutes away so I may make a few orders to go and pick up (I need 10 - 15). Looks like the quantity is ymmv.

Would this work with raised beds, or should I actually purchase raised-bed soil?

Might be a bit heavy if its an elevated bed. But great for anything on the ground. For elevated you need to mix in peat.

I think Ace limits quantities to stock on hand if you're doing store pickup. None of my local stores carry it, but one that's 40 minutes away will let me choose up to 15, or manually enter a quantity.
