Just for reference. My order history shows one pack for $2.38 in 2020.

Ice cubes allegedly sharpen the disposal (probably from being a solid that scrapes away the built up grime?), and dish soap kills the bacteria that makes it smell…

Just stuff I've learned from plumbers over the years, but no idea if it's scientifically proven vs wives tale.

For what it's worth, I've just stuck to the ice cube cleaning. I checked what manufacturer recommends and they just mention ice cubes & lemon/lime wedges.

These things are amazing! I could see an immediate change after using them, just by hearing the level of water flowing in, now I use them once a month

I am aware of the product for at least 2-3 years, but have never known them to advertise. Affresh is bombarding Amazon Prime with their ads now. I wonder what changed suddenly leading to an all-out ad offensive.

"Like hand soap, dish soap does not kill bacteria, but it lifts them off surfaces so that they can be washed away by water."

My guess is that they hired a new marketing director, who got the funding for the social media ad campaign. There are probably a bunch of folks who are working on the various ad campaigns. There are people like me collecting the sales data from previous months and the months after. Also, trying to get the data from Amazon to see if people who saw the ads were more likely to buy the product in the next week, month, quarter, 6 months, and a year. A lot of work going on in the back ground.

SOURCE: I'm a social media marketing data analytics guy. =)

I'm not sure about how the dishwasher ones work but the washing machine ones are essential to having a clean washer especially if you have a whirlpool that doesn't let you get to the filter easy. Here's a video of myself using the washing machine version. https://youtu.be/UgV8JLGc_4g
