I bought two of these in 2021 and although they seemed to be very good quality, the glue started delaminating on both of them after 6 months (only using on the lake twice). The handle ripped off and the deck peeled about 3/4 of the way off. They later had a recall for the tandem boards due to an issue with the glue at the seams coming apart causing them to burst. Even though mine were the single person boards I feel like they were experiencing the same problem.

I returned both to Costco and they let me exchange them for the 2022 model and those have been holding up well with minimal use, but my previous experience kind of shook my trust in these iSups.

With that said, these Body Glove boards are produced by Surf9 LLC and manufactured by Jiangxi Aike Outdoor Sports. Another company called Asia Direct imports similar boards from the manufacturer. Just providing info for product comparisons.

Bought two online for $300 shipped. Both showed up the next day (glad I didn't pay for express shipping which would have taken 5 days 😋) I've been watching these for years, they generally drop to $250 in store if there are any left.

Unfortunately, I'm reading a lot of issues with delamination and ripped seams. Too many issues for my comfort. Hopefully they fixed this in this year's production but it seems unlikely since it seems like the last few years model had this issue.

Cosco's warranty is great but that doesn't do me a ton of good if a seam opens up in the middle of a lake. I think these are gonna go back and I'll wait on a deal on a brand with less issues.

only their tandem board (15') had the seam separation issue and Body Glove was proactive with letting people know (if you registered your board) for exchange or refund. Blackfin, which is double the price had the seam separation issue on 2-3 of their boards and after fighting with owners and bad press did they relent with replacement boards. iRocker also had the problem and was very slow to respond. In all cases, it was the defective glue used.

How does this compare to the hyperlite elevation 2.0 that Costco had for $199 on memorial day? Is this worth an extra $100 for casual use?

Comparable deal is the Atoll at $375, if you're looking for options. Manual pump vs electric though.
Atoll is single ply on par with the $150. Amazon boards. They have too much flex vs a Body Glove 3 stringers. Even with my 240lbs, there is no flex. Always test paddle first if possible. Visit a popular launch area and ask questions about the various boards that paddlers have. There is a difference in all. Lots of mid lever boards in sale in the $300-$600 level.

Thanks for the info & perspective. I'm no expert, still learning. From what I've read, Atoll uses a single layer PVC for the rails and a dual-layer PVC on the top and bottom, which to your point can lead to more flex, especially for heavier paddlers. I don't have personal experience with the Atoll, I just see a lot of great user reviews for it (in the under $500 category). I had the Body Glove a couple seasons ago, but returned it to Coscto because the seams were becoming unglued. I believe they fixed that issue with the newer models. I felt the Body Glove was super stiff, but the performance was a bit lackluster. I suppose my expectations were higher than they should have been for a board in that price range. Don't get me wrong though, it was fun on the lake...casual recreational paddling.

Body Glove (and Blackfin, iRocker) only had seam separation with their tandem board and not their solo boards. BG is a higher quality board vs the Atoll no question about that. Performance between these two should be very similar, but I'll always choose quality first. BG has a big presence in the rental business because they are durable and backed by a generous warranty. Anyway, enjoy your board and have fun on the water.

$200 seems a good deal. $300, go with the Atoll for $400. That is a steal. Paid $600 for ours only 2 years ago. Glad these are coming down in price though. Get the OutdoorMaster pump if you want a good one.
