The math on this deal is a little confusing - something seems "not right". I also only analyzed the Vanilla.

2.97¢/g Protein - Sports Research Whey Isolate [amazon.com]Price: $46.89 for 5 lbs.15.4% of Protein is Leucine69.4% of mass is Protein71.4% of calories are Protein

First the price. 2.97 cents per gram for isolate is a good, but not fantastic price. They claim to have a few additions most competitors do not:
- They claim to boost their leucine content, adding an extra gram per serving, which could have value for gainz.
- It is sweetened with Stevia instead of Sucralose (for folks who care)

However, they claim to be mostly isolate. The first ingredient is isolate, and the second is natural flavoring. Sodium Caseinate is the third ingredient, which is also protein (casein).

The nutrition information looks more like a concentrate product than an isolate product. I would expect most isolates to be about 90% protein, maybe more, but this product is only 70% protein, consistent with most concentrate products. It could be that it is isolate and their natural flavoring is "bigger" than other brands, or there are other fillers. It also has 3.5g of fat, 3g saturated. Isolates usually filter most of this out - it could be not filtered out, or it could be added. I do not know.

Given the extra fat, calories, and flavoring in an isolate product, I would expect it to taste good (despite the stevia - I personally prefer sucralose). But, I'm far too much of a cheapskate to buy it.

Yes it says on the bag "enhanced with MCT powder" but confusing as I don't see it on the ingredient list. So that is where the extra saturated fat is probably coming from, also lowering the percentage of total protein.

Given the shady company name I'm gonna pass
I'm not sure what the company name has to do with anything? I've bought a few different supplements from them & had no issues. I'm still using their omega-3 supplements. I filled up on protein powder during the last 10lbs impact isolate sale, so I'm passing on this.

The ingredients & %'s are odd though...

I read that we can't do Amazon "food" returns is that correct? I am lactose intolerant. If this is blended, I'll know ASAP.

I hate paying full price on isolate and try to avoid it like the plague.

I think so I bought some bcaa amino energy powder and tried to return since the price went down by 50 percent and they wouldn't take it back. I didn't even get it yet

I have gotten this a few times. It tastes great and the MCT oil didn't add any taste or digestive issues. Maybe gave it a richer flavor. The nutrition profile is due to the MCT.

They add MCTs which are sat fat, so that could be where it comes from.
But cholesterol is usually the giveaway for a concentrate. Odd that they dont put it on the label.

Seems strange to go through the isolation process of removing all the fat and then adding 3g per serving of an expensive saturated fat (MCT powder).

What is the cholesterol content? There is no mention of that?

Protein powders are considered a supplement not a food and all supplements are exempt from the fda's labeling regulations. That being said, if the ingredient list is accurate, it's probably zero cholesterol.
