Sorry I have the 16 version of this that's on sale right now for $750. I think I need to make a return.
I bought two Grams recently. One looked slick with a hidden touchpad. It was impossible to use and was returned. The other was a Gram like this. I love it. I can use it all day without a power brick and I travel with it.

I also have a Lenovo Slim 9. I'm typing on it now. It is also very good. It is heavy, it has a big power brick and lasts about 3 hours on battery. It has a better GPU and screen. I love it. But I use it as a desktop replacement.

I don't regret either purchase. But, they each have a different purpose.

Sorry folks, very first post, and seeking advice and some help.

Just got a Display piece for $400, was wondering if this is an okay deal for it? Also, any pointers to what all checks need to be run, please, to confirm everything is in okay state.

A ton of thanks in advance to those who can help.
Run for it atulk! RUN STRAIGHT HOME!

But yes, that's a good deal.

Click on window button, type run, click on command prompt and copy/paste this powercfg /batteryreport and lookup report of how the battery is.

Well, I just called my local Costco and they only have the display model left. No discounts on it - the full $700. It's probably fine, but I can wait.

oos now of course, but yes - for non-gaming use it would be solid for 4 years. Even for gaming, they could do xcloud or another cloud-based streaming gaming option.

Search for "LG Gram" at costco.com and you'll see other options still.
Do Grams run hot when it's so thin like this?

Never been my experience, the thermals have been solid.

I bought a Gram 17 last year. Amazing laptop in all respects except two, if you canlive with those:

1. The keyboard is hated by many.
2. The speakers are some of the weakest I've experienced on a laptop. Barely loud enough to watch Netflix in a hotel room.

Everything else is amazing:
the screen
the weight
the battery life
the performance is more than adequate for most tasks

I returned LG Gram 17 to Costco because of the keyboard. Too frustrating to deal with every time I travel.

Receiving my heavy Lenovo Slim Pro 9 16" 2023 tomorrow with crappy battery life and an abysmal port selection coming as standard. It does have an amazing keyboard and fantastic performance though.

Thanks. I managed to get an order in yesterday when it came back in stock for a brief period of time. I did more of buy now think later. Overall, the specs look decent except few negative reviews on the keyboard. Battery life may depend on the usage. Hopefully the kid likes it. Since this is from Costco I hope it will be an easy return if it comes to that.

Got one of the convertible 16" Grams from Costco a model or two back last year. You can't turn off secure boot, which means you can't install another OS or run a bootable USB like Clonezilla. Pretty annoying. Wish I'd figured that out sooner.
I found this, but do you have a source about this particular model that says you cannot do it?
If you scroll down they show how to enable/disable the Secure Boot option.

You're paying for the lightness of the machine. The gram's were noticeably lighter than their competition at the instore display the other day.
Fair enough. But are they going to still be usable in 2 years? Never buying anything MSI again because they don't hold up to daily use.

I even had a long email thread with support. The method that is supposed to work does not from the BIOS. Where it shows the AMI BIOS/UEFI in that link above? That Secure Boot option isn't there on this model. The override to open the hidden menu that some models use to enable also didn't work. Support finally admitted that model I couldn't do it.

I don't have it with me, but it's either a 2021 or 2022 2 in 1 16" Gram.

Looks like this deal is dead but I'll respond about the LG Gram quality. My first Gram was a gen 8. After 5 years, I only sold it because I wanted an updated system. I never had a problem and am optimistic about this new one.

I bought and returned the LG Gram "Style". I couldn't manage the keyboard or mouse. The regular Gram is much better. My Lenovo is a little better than the Gram but it is a lot heavier.

Mine is being delivered tomorrow. I can't seem to find specs regarding how many M.2 slots. Also, the size of the drives they can accept.
Thanks for any info.

Was at Costco today and saw the demo unit marked down to $500. Tried to get another $50 off, but no go. Seemed like a good deal so got one following SD's philosophy of "buy first, think later".

Spent some time with it this evening and am liking it so far. Feels very light for its size. Love the big, bright screen. Will test it more over the coming days.

Received mine today. Really like it. My only gripe - and I expected this from playing with the demo at Costco in the past - is the centering of the keyboard relative to the trackpad. I wish it didn't have the 10-key and the main keyboard was centered better. I hit Num lock instead of backspace a lot. Great screen and performance and of course the weight is incredible. As appealing as the gtx3050 oled pro model is, this was half the price. And I definitely prefer a matte to a glossy display
