On the return flight, we load up all our dirty clothes into this bag and check it in. This ends up leaving us an entire suitcase for snacks and souvenirs! We recently did this on our trip to Tokyo.
This bag is tough and clothing is soft so there is never any damage other than some scuffs (we have done this one 8+ international trips) the past 10 years and the bad is still holding up just fine. Being able to wear it like a backpack makes heavier loads much easier too.
Many may not like the bright colors, but makes it very easy to spot when waiting for it to come up from the luggage carousel.

Never really had any issues. The only time I can remember was coming home from France, the person at the check-in counter looked at the bag, looked at us, looked at the bag, looked at us and kinda makes a frowning face…but she does end up letting it through.
I definitely think that having just clothes in it helps since most of the time it isn't that heavy and it's more "pliable" since it's soft.
The material is made of a PVC type material so for the most part it is liquid resistant. Never really had any problems with staining. Many of the stains that we noticed were easily wiped off with a wet paper towel and some elbow grease.
However there are some scuffs and scratches from normal usage that unfortunately can't be wiped off.
so the XXL is not as big as other brand duffle bag
In regards to roadtrips, the Large can easily fit two weeks worth of clothes, so you may consider looking into the medium.
