I put down 30 bags of the deep forest brown yesterday, and it is the nicest mulch I have ever used. It is uniform in size and the color is beautiful. Been doing mulch forever, and this is truly mice mulch. Going back for 30 more bags today.

It's standard for these Scotts bags - has been for years.

2 cubic feet is what Lowe's/HD's generic house brands typically come in. General consensus is this Scotts mulch is better stuff.

The last 2 years I have received leaf spot fungus from Scotts and lowes branded mulch on my vegetable plants that can get it. For flowers etc, it's fine, but for vegetable plants that are susceptible to fungal diseases.. watch out. It tends to grow inside the bags and the spores explode when you open that bag. I know because the other vegetable plants I didn't put mulch on, are perfectly fine all year. Luckily they are spread out, so the spores didn't get to the non mulched veggies.

Just fyi, walmart has the unbranded (brown) mulch in a 2-cu bag for $2.00 as well. They actually have it listed as $2.47, but it rings up as $2.
I think that is actually their normal price on it as well. Maybe they are trying to get rid of it or something, I don't know... It is not advertised as $2 though.

Its kind of weird too because on the website, at least for my local store, it shows out of stock. I was there today and they had many pallets of it so, not sure what is going on there....

THIS [walmart.com]

Maybe the Scotts 1.5 cu mulch is better quality. I don't know... It is probably all the same stuff.

If ordering a large quantity for delivery, does Lowes outsource it? Would driver have equipment to unload?

mulch is usually in 2 SQFT bags so these are 25% smaller than normal!

better chopped up wood ? I just put down 80 bags of mulch last weekend and whatever brand I bought ( didn't even look at the name) was fine. It was black and in 2 SQFT bags. I always coat mulch with termiticide and weed killer though no matter the brand. My bushes will struggle a bit for a month after but they will recover. I can't kill whatever these bushes are, I've tried to murder a couple of them them cutting them down to the roots they just grow back Stick Out Tongue
