Does this have a creative mode or is it more mission/challenge based?

I would wait if u can as a SD'er. They will remove deluxe edition and make 2 editions (standard and ultimate) to make u buy ultimate edition for eventually the right price ($19.99). Sometimes I think their target is this logarithmic repurchasing pay model based on time, which a modification of the fremium model but targeted at buyers with an anti-freemium or anti-dlc mentality. It's to go after the potential repeat customers. There are casuals (accept freemium model and are divided into impulse buyers or poor math-economic-saving skills) and then there is the older gamer community who are on the other extreme. Oh the men in suits are aware and this is what they discuss at the round table or meeting how to target both groups, as both are willing to pay under the right conditions. Oh we are studied for our consumer behavior.

If u have kids who can't wait, either don't mention this or I had mine read books or taught a lesson about economics. That made this game educational.
