None of their cameras from this generation introduced almost 4 years ago onward support anything more than a 128 GB card (suspect this is because they are pushing people to move towards their external storage/gateway option, the homebase.) None of the so far released 2K cameras that can record 24/7 will record 24/7 in 2K it's always 1080p except for when you use them in clip mode. Their AI detection is not great (my bird camera kept alerting that birds were people it took several months of sending them clips with this is not a human it is a bird in both English and Chinese before it stopped false triggering... and 6 months without the Chinese before so if you do send in reports maybe have Google translate add a Chinese note for quicker processing...) if an event is triggered by sound it will not change into a human detected event once a human is detected which is less than ideal. Also for some reason when there is more than one light on in my library their cameras detect a pile of books that to my knowledge has never moved as a human (maybe it's just a really good mimic 🤷)
Now the good, I have this specific camera connected to my porch light (above, giving rain protection unless the rain comes in sideways and up) and have had absolutely no functionality issues from negative 15 Fahrenheit to 115 aside from the SD card failing after two or three years which is expected especially since it was a Samsung EVO card.) the follow motion does seem to work but at least outside it's not ideal because of bugs so I disabled it multiple years ago and now only use the manual motion control to check for packages 🤣
For similar prices you can get true 2k cameras from people like tp-link and depending on the generation the TP camera will support 256 to 512 GB. (I'm migrating to tp-link so I actually know that, we will see if after I finally get around to installing the cameras I start bitching about tp-link 🤣)
Edit: https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Ta...0CWD7D41R/ is the TP camera I would buy over this if I were looking for an indoor PTZ as it's slightly better resolution than their cheaper version (2k qhd vs 2k) and definitely takes 512GB cards (their cheaper one says in the description it takes 512 but in the comparison page it lists 256) and because it's (at least currently) cheaper at $29
really, when released nearly 4 years ago these two k cameras were great options even though they did not constantly record at 2K and had a fairly limited storage capacity however the fact that these and their just introduced hardwired cameras still have those same drawbacks is just ridiculous and is the real reason I'm switching camera providers despite having five of these (2 movers, 3 stationary) around the house.

If you get homebase 3, these connect to it and you can put in a bigger SSD. Records and replays just fine
But yes, if you buy their specific homebase product thereby solidly locking yourself into the eufy infrastructure you can definitely get *1080p* resolution on 24/7 recording from their claimed 2k cameras (again, there is *no* way to get 24/7 2k video on any of the eufy cameras via local or network storage.) I still don't get why they did this on even the homebase 3 when the 4k cameras will give 4k clips and 24/7 on the same homebase (at least in theory when both are updated to the proper firmware)....
And yes, you can install an extra 2.5 drive of up to 16TB to upgrade the 16GB built in storage in the ~$150 homebase 3. (I wouldn't really recommend SSD for camera based security if size matters to you as it's unlikely you need the writing speed bump even at 4k and the cost is somewhat prohibitive as you get much above 2TB, but if you have a ton of money you do you.)
(re: 2k not recording in 2k see https://support.eufy.co
Basically, my original comments stand, the 2k hardware is rather borked on all 2k cameras even today, and the SD support is borked on *ALL* cameras including the new/expensive 4k ones to push people towards their homebase solution which can have its own issues from the many discussions on reddit.
Have a good one
I'm mostly with reolink, I like that they have a real windows app thats really important to me. Good video quality and they are much less aggressive about pushing you to subs than almost any brand. But for example their motion detection seems unreliable, as mentioned they have a PC client so thats great, but it leaves a lot to be desired, etc.
