I did not try, I had few more months of apple care left when I checked

How about the external conditions? Any other issues other than high battery cycle and 89 percent capacity?

Did BB charged you for 16" for 14"?
For low 37 cycles @ 92% capacity sounds bad. For 37 cycles, batt cap should be close to 98-99 cap! The previous owner must have really treated the battery bad like overheating and constantly depleting batt to zero. If BB charged you $1099 for 14" then it's not a great deal especially with batt condition. Sorry.

Yes they charged for 16 ☹️ and yeah looks like the previous owner abused their battery, planning to return as BB did not help me replace with 16, or refund the difference or even just give me another 14" open box or something
Not to worry... I'm sure there will be better deal soon on M1s or even M2s especially that M4 supposed to come out or at least announcement about it for late 2024 with AI features.
