This is plenty fast for a Chromebook and 8GB is enough ram for Chrome even with 50 tabs open or more.
I have an older version of this with the same 2k (1920 x 1200 (WUXGA)) screen and love it. I use it in addition to my I5 which is not faster for what I do on it. The one downside is it does not have a HDMI and the Display Port is one of the USB C's or most likely both of them like my Flex 5I. However a USB C to HDMI is fairly cheap or you could get a port.
