I have a bunch of these and I have the wireless water shut off valve installed and it is pretty great. Works well when I want to cut off the water to make a repair and has cut itself off when there are any leaks to save the house. Everything seems to just really work well. I had a bad hub and I emailed them and they sent me a new one right away. Built an addition onto my house so I needed a few more to cover the new plumbed areas. The hub is extra so maybe I will sell it to make this even slicker.

Yeah, but the product stopped working. How long did it last before breaking?
I know this particular deal is for ones that dont make noise, but that's perfectly alright. Setting things up for myself or my partner to get notified on our cell phones seems plenty good.
Of course, adding in smart leak sensors suddenly makes it seem much more appropriate to add a smart water shutoff valve in case something does happen....
If there is water on the floor, these leak sensors will detect it. There is a pair of contact probes on the top of the sensor. And there are two pairs of contact probes on the bottom of the sensor. When water touches a pair of probes at the same time, it shorts the circuit and send an alert.
I have not tested these on carpet, yet.
I thought HA could be used without the cloud now? Isn't that kills the point of not using the commercial stuff?
If I didn't just replace them all with Zigbee sensors, I'd be looking at this.
Fyi you can do a device to device, or D2D link, which uses a direct, power and internet free link between these sensors and a shutoff valve. They will do their thing on battery power. To do it, hold set button for 5 secs on sensor, then repeat on the shutoff valve. They will flash and stop, indicating a connection. You can then setup more automation and notifications, but if you don't want cloud you don't have to use it.
Personally I have my router on a UPS battery to keep even the notifications going. And Yolink has said having both methods for valve shutoff setup has no downsides.

You'll like it. The speaker hub can sound a tone, read text to speech that you set for it to, etc. Which I like for my door sensors etc. They have an incredible alarm gadget system too. Setup is a breeze. With the water shutoff valve itself, it is so much cheaper than the alternatives, works great, and was easy to install myself since I am handy enough with the PEX I have for plumbing. I splurged on the best lithium batteries after not liking that even Eneloop pro rechargeables seemed to show low battery fairly regularly and I got tired of rolling my fridge forward to replace them. In my case I put in a little access panel behind there, where my main water line happens to come up into the house.
