I liked it and bought it for $5 with the large pile of Walmart games on sale for $5 to $10 but am backlogged to replay this game.
$8 with free shipping, you'll get a decent amount of playtime out of it for that price.
You can play solo, but it is made for multiplayer. When you play solo, you play with 3 bots. I have played quite a bit solo, and most of the time, it works. The harder difficulties will require humans, though.

I hate that. Some times you just want to play solo. Some people are real d-bags in these games. During a round of left 4 dead 2 I had a guy yell at me and quit mid round because I didn't understand the "system" they were using to assign roles to people. This was after I'd played at least 50 hours coop and no other team did anything like that.
Online gaming used to be my thing. Between Socom, Destiny, CoD, Battlefield...I have spent thousands of hours playing online. People have turned so douchy and I have so little patience for it that I basically just don't play online anymore. I bought Hell Divers 2 a couple months ago. I played my first match, felt like I did pretty well despite not understanding everything, and the mission ends with an evacuation craft showing up to evacuate you off the battlefield. As I'm running up to the craft, 1 of the players already on it just blasts me for no reason. I missed evacuation over it and I haven't touched it since. People just suck.
