The listing doesn't appear to be for the surge impact, just the standard impact driver.

Surge is available here, just add 2 of the surge and it works out to $98 or so.

I have the m18 surge and standard m12. Both do everything I need and prefer the m18 surge because it's so quiet.

Just ordered the standard m18 fuel impact because why not...

I have the 1/4 from the drill set. Should I also want a surge 🤔

Wish they would update the surge model with the tri-leds. Still a great deal!

I wouldn't bother unless reducing noise is very important for your purposes.

The surge (both M12 & M18) have a good deal more.. 'finesse' when driving fasteners, which can be useful in 'finer' applications like cabinetry, or driving self-drilling screws in sheet metal. But yeah, they're largely just a quieter version of an impact driver.

My typical go-to is the M12 installation driver. I try to avoid impacts due to their noise, but they are nice for the torque they can apply without twisting your arm.

Same, I've been holding out for a 'next gen' tri-led M12 Surge, and if they came out with an M18 too, I might get both if the M18 is substantially faster/better.. basically for the reasons above - but when driving heavier fasteners.

I would get the M12 surge if you already have the standard M18. Use the lighter M12 for pretty much everything and break out the M18 only if you need it.
