Something like this would be neat for the 12VDC circuits in my camper. Of course, this one is only for AC.

Question, the light socket adapter, I know it makes a noise when the circuit is tripped. Now, can you unplug it while it makes noise and move to another outlet in the same room to see if that outlet is on the same circuit?

Is the voltage tester worth it for $17.97 as well?

I usually just connect 2 outlet holes with a pig tail. Not electrical advice

I have a small house and an old panel that's mostly unlabeled. Will this save me a lot of time compared to plugging in a floor lamp and checking outlets?

I would say yes, as no need to run back and forth as often.

Same price at Home Depot. I have gift cards from when Chase was offering 10% cash back so cheaper there for me. Thanks for the heads up on this though. My panels are poorly labeled and this will definitely help map the outlets for my home.

These are great to toss in your electrical kit, even if you are a weekend warrior. When you want to change out an outlet for a tighter commercial one, youll be glad.

tip for homebuyers: take the GFCI tester with you when you are shopping for a home, and test a few outlets, especially outdoors, to see if any shortcuts were taken. Prepare to be terrified EEK!

The circuit breaker finder is quite useful if you understand one blindspot: if you have a circuit with a UPS backup battery plugged into it, unplug that UPS before looking for its respective breaker. I found this out through a super obscure forum post after trying for a half hour to find the circuit for the bedroom.

Sadly, by the time I figured this issue out, I already found the circuit by process of elimination Confused

You want something like this https://www.amazon.com/Klein-Tool...98QV&psc=1
May work for this purpose, but I don't think that is quite it...
Maybe more along these lines - Automotive-Diagnostic-Circuit-Tracker-Checker [amazon.com]

I bought this a year or two ago. It's a great tool for an older house, or any house with a panel that is not labeled. It does work very well, and with the adapter, you can also trace light fixtures to the breaker. I did also buy the Klein Tradesman Pro 2.25 in. Large Hard Tool Case Organizer for this, since I always lose the extra parts.

It saves me a lot of time when I use it. It's totally worth it.
