Refurb food related items should really state whether their plastic food-touching bits were replaced, or simply cleaned and repackaged… especially if it's from some random site like Buydig.

As it is, I'm not sure if someone has already ground dog meat or whatever in this thing…

90 warranty is nice, but this particular model has been discontinued, so don't expect to be able to find extra parts or anything past that point if you need them.

I bought this one but do not recommend. It has no power and it died in a year.

What's a solid Cuisinart model that will last? I've heard Cuisinart is the brand to get, but posts above make this sound like it's not the one

The 12 cup model with the 1000W motor from Buydig that was posted several weeks ago is amazing. Didn't realize the difference between my old 500W one and 1000W.

Some version of the DLC-8, or if you need larger, the DLC-14. They've been making them for decades, parts are available, and the motors just go and go and go.

I have a DLC-8 that was given to me by a friend, whose mother bought it in the 90s. I'd say you can pry it from my cold dead hands, but you don't need to: Cuisinart still sells them, but not for $40

I purchased the one 12 cup from buydig. I Was using it to chop 6 cups of onions for bolognese, pressed the chop button for a wee too long and made an onion slushy.
