I have a pair of their aviators with metal frame. Never wore too much because it was a bit tight on me. Coating on the lenses started peeling/flaking around some edges. Even with it being stored most of its life.

Anyone ordered Oakley stuff here? Is it legit? I've ordered clothing from them and they've been a great store to deal with, so I'm tempted. This deal just seems too good to be true.
Is there actually a difference between a non-brand uv polirized sun-glasses than a premium brand like oakley? I bought one from walmart it works and feels fine.
akley used to brag about "Thermonuclear Protection" back in the day...

I ordered a pair of oakleys last summer , I was unsure , I took them to a local eye place , asked if you could authenticate , they did. These are real oakleys , I ordered the blue and white polarized this time . I must admit not the greatest deal but I've seen much worst. Your going to pay for a name brand like Oakley . I got a ok deal I'm happy with !

They are legit. I ordered 3 pairs earlier this year when the same deal popped up.
Sent one pair back because it did not fit well, return was easy but I did pay for the return label myself. If you can find a pair with Prizm Sapphire lens, the colors an clarity on these lenses are amazing. Very happy with my Oakleys and had previously been buying cheap $10-$30 lens off Amazon.

It's hard to say. I'd argue it depends on the model more than the brand. Some of the color tech on these lenses is great and not something you can get with a pair of generic walmart lenses but the made in china base models without any of the color spectrum stuff? Probably no different. There was a time when the cheap stuff would have distortion in the lenses compared to name brands but I don't see that much anymore. There are also quality swings within brands based on where the model is made. For instance, the classic aviators from Ray-Ban are still made in Italy but many of their models (and even some of the Aviator types) are now made in China and they're noticeably cheaper quality without the price drop to go with it.

Clarity and color accuracy will likely be noticeably better with Oakleys over no-name, inexpensive, sunglasses. Whether or not that matters to you is personal preference. Some people can't see much difference between a 1080p tv and a 4K tv. Some people can see big differences between two TVs with similar specs.
As for the polarization, the orientation of the plastic they're cutting and molding for the glasses actually matters. Without going into unnecessary detail, polarization can work horizontally or vertically (or diagonally) depending on that orientation, but never all of the above. Generally, polarization is going to work horizontally (blocking reflected light from below or above). It used to be the case that cheap polarized lenses could have one lens done correctly and one lens skewed, or both skewed, or both correct. It was luck of the draw. I don't know how much that occurs now. It's probably a crapshoot with no-name sunglasses. With Oakley and other reputable brands, there isn't that concern. Again, though, it might not matter to one consumer and might matter a lot to another.
