These are different now, almost taste rancid at times. I've tried several bags now and the texture is different, I think they use a different type of oil or something.
Ingredients: Potatoes, Vegetable Oils (Canola, Sunflower And/Or Safflower), Sea Salt.

Right? The "7.5" was 8.5 last year! And the price has been going up.
Plus on over half the bags the oil soaks through.

I've noticed that some other chip makers that use canola oil tend to have theirs go rancid faster than those made with sunflower oil...the odor hits us when we open the bag!...so maybe that is the cause in your case? I'm not sure if they have changed their recipe (and, interestingly, Kettle has been "eaten up"...pun VERY intended...several times; most recently by Snyders in 2016, which was, in turn 'consumed' by Campbells in 2018...which may or may not be a coincidence with respect to the issues being discussed...I'm thinking not a coincidence.) Sigh.

The Kirkland Krinkle Cut Himalayan Salt? Yeah, same brand by Kettle. It's the same good quality but way cheaper too ($0.23/oz no add'l discount vs this at $0.33/oz even with discounts.) But it's not available, so this is the next best thing currently on Amazon.

The price isn't too far off from Cape Cod's 14oz party size, fwiw. I didn't have the best luck getting their chips in the past from Amazon though. Got a few bags and one was already out of date and the others had like a week on them.
