You can set the left side to 8, 10, 12, 15, 18, 28, 37, 46 and 55 oz. Left side is quiet. Right side is louder but not louder than the stand alone nespresso machine we had. About the same. It doesn't wake anyone up.
What issues? I've been using for a couple weeks every day and haven't had a problem.
