What about their hinges on this one? Still the same bad design? I want to know when it is safe to go with Lenovo brand. I keep these in service for many years. Don't want weak hinges.

I've heard 9 million people complain about the hinges...all 3rd person. Never met a soul who actually had a bad one though. Owned a number of Lenovo 2-in-1's, you can count me as another person who hasn't had an exploding hinge or met bigfoot for that matter Wink

I am in the market for another laptop because my 2 year old Lenovo hinge broke and shattered part of the screen. Consider yourself lucky.

sharing my anecdotal experience - have thinkpad E14, thinkpad L14, Flex 5 and Yoga 6 at home and all of them are working grand. Flex 5 even survived a severe car crash with just a little plastic piece breaking off where it holds the screen, still no issue with hinge.

Price has been like that since last week and most likely will remain in the future. Memory is soldered though.

Or consider yourself unlucky?

BTW, 2 years is well past warranty date for ANY laptop for ANY concern. Also well into the end of life for a vast majority of consumer laptops. Everything breaks at some point. If you said the hinge broke after 6 weeks (or months) perhaps it would be worthy of a conversation.
