My GO TO Laptop - these are the best. All of our family members have one. And the darker colored ones are the best (either blue or black).

An audio jack and storage and Wi-Fi module which are user-serviceable.

I've been drooling over Dragonfly models but Spectre is still delivering a lot for the price premium.

Good luck!

HP has burned me on hinges too many times. In one case, the best I could come up with was cracking it open, loosening the hinge to a level that would tear the monitor from the chassis, which caused a detection issue where when the lid was open, the screen wouldn't power on unless the lid was closed and reopened again. I know every maker has issues, but HP has a CAL being filed for this reason.

I have the 16 inch one. Purchased two years ago from Microsoft store. Spent almost $2k for it.

DON'T BUY.

It's awesome when it works. Gorgeous display.

BUT it is the worst in terms of s/w issues. Display blinks often. Has plenty of device driver issues. Freezes time to time. Will not come back from sleep.

Probably the worst I have ever owned. Few days ago it died and I've given it for repair. No idea what the issues is yet.

The touch screen OLED is awesome. Have to admit it. But I don't think it's worth the money even at $1k.

Just my opinion.

No matter how much money you spend on a hp laptop, their touchpad and fingerprint scanner (if any) are gonna perform terribly.

I purchased an Envy last year. It died within 2 weeks. Returned and replaced at Costco no questions asked but the replacement Envy died 4 weeks in. Returned for ANOTHER replacement via Costco. This laptop had issues the 3rd day (webcam wouldn't function then corrupted files) so I returned for a refund. Maybe Costco just got a bad batch of HP Envy laptops but I had 3 of 3 fail within a month.

I have a Dell Inspiron that does not wake up from sleep, the laptop is from 2018. Wonder if it is a Windows issue and not specific to a manufacture. Surprised these same issues still exist

My 13.3 in specter from early 2020 (a 1065g7 based with 16gb ram) has been reliable since then with daily heavy use. I do use it with a dell doc (got for cheap) and external monitors, and upgraded to win 11 when it came out. Other than once or twice with the intel graphics drivers it has worked great both as primary home pc and while traveling. I do use it for remote work too sometimes. If this were the 13.3 I would not hesitate to get it. Just remember to use the intel driver update utility not the HP one other than for bios updates. I like it more than the dell latitude my work issued me for primary use but thats not surprising as this is more of a dell xps competitor. I do kind of wish there was a discrete graphics option from nvidia but its not a deal breaker for me.
