Folks this is literally $10 for 2 paddles and 2 balls. If you get them and use them a couple times it's worth it to know if you actually like the sport or not. Who cares if they're top quality at this price.

These are pretty much worthless. The balls are good, x40s but the paddles are pure crap

Do NOT buy it. Not only this but this type of cheap sets are waste of money. Wife did it and it was a huge mistake. I don't even know where they are now. Get your self a nice paddle.

I'm brand new to the sport and got these Friday paddles - 2 for $99 (plus shipping but no tax):
https://fridaypickle.com/products/friday-paddle

Originally bought the $70 set at Costco and was told these Friday paddles were much better for only about $10/paddle more. Haven't even received them yet so won't know if that's true. It's much more expensive than these cheap Franklin paddles but figure the better equipment will hopefully encourage us to play.

Better price than 5 below. I spent $15 for 2 paddles and 4 balls. Or was it $5.55 each. Either way thus is cheaper than that. But the 5 below ones suck as they are made from cheap cheap wood and brake easily

Do you have a decently priced recommendation for a beginner who plans to play regularly?

Don't listen to the pretentious Pickleball snobs, these paddles are okay for casual play. I don't know how you break these just playing casually, great for back up. It's just Pickleball not tennis. That being said this is still a good deal for the price since similar paddles could be had for less at HobbyLobby, 5 below, etc...

edtit: my kids have been using these regularly for 3 months now and they are holding up; kids are notorious for not taking care of their equipment.

I got in on this deal earlier this month for the same price.

Hopefully they are better quality paddles than the OP deal. They are carbon fiber and the reviews on Amazon are decent. I haven't tried them yet so I don't know how they play. They feel pretty light to me, maybe too light.
