For first year.

Using them for 14 years now on annual plan with unlock phone. Bounced between their AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile, found T-Mobile to be the best of the three (Cleveland, OH area). I found annual plan, just work, you activate the plans and let it run. Then buy the same annual plan when it on sale to "stack" them. I found myself use about 10GB on Mobile and 30Gb on WiFi, phone mainly use to check email and look stuff up for work.

Tech support can be a hit or miss, I have a good luck with their chat support, but be warn of spending a good 2 hours to have your issue resolve.

Don't do it! I should have listened to Others here as well as reviews and reddit. The service is horrible and their customer service is worse. I bought the one year GSMA plan 5 GB on AT&T network And have horrible reception at times as well as no data at times or very slow. I'm using an iPhone. There is no VOLTE For me to turn on as red pocket customer service keeps suggesting, I'm guessing because red pocket does not push AT&T software to the device. So I've been waiting for weeks now for them to send me a CDMA Sim to Try Verizon network with them yet with that I would only get 3 GB data for the month.. They first sent a Sim which was GSMT by accident, then the CDMA card was shipped to my billing address in Florida! No agent will put a supervisor on the phone they tell me that they are well trained no matter what I say they just keep repeating the same thing over and over. Save yourself the grief and go with US mobile or Anyone else! Rant over

New customers only, can't add/stack to current customer's plan. You could add a new line and then possibly replace existing plan with new... but what a headache and might not work.

$24/mo for the 30GB/Unlimited plan is a good deal. Better than BF pricing ($300/yr, $25/mo.).

I've had Red Pocket for a few years.

Per the above posts:
  1. VOLTE for AT&T must be turned on by Red Pocket if not on be default.
  2. Correct that a new plan will replace the old. So you need to wait until things are expiring to re-purchase. Also, make sure that Auto-Renew is turned OFF within red pocket.

Red Pocket is fine on AT&T (can't speak for TMobile):
  • Deprioritized data that I've never had an issue with except when at stadiums.
  • Speeds and coverage is good.
  • Red Pocket CS is generally pretty good, but it's chat only.

Mild Complaints:
  • I've had be allocated data be wrong a few times and they have to fix it in my account. Randomly my account will go to 5GB of data for no reason, and I have to do chat support for them to fix it. Seems to happens once per year ish.
  • You don't get to see where your data allotment is currently, you only get a notification text when it's low.
  • Red Pocket's Pricing has gotten less competitive over the years. I used to get 15gb of data for less than $20. They eliminated that offering and the 10gb plan is priced the same now. Their unlimited pricing is too high if not on sale.
  • Red Pocket throttles hard. Data becomes unusable if you exceed the limit.
I'll likely switch off of Red Pocket when my contract is up b/c 10gb is too little data, the pricing isn't what is used to be, and there are better priced unlimited plans.

You can text BAL to 3888 to get your data balance, except on the 30GB plan. For some reason, after bumping the 25GB to 30GB it no longer works. Probably because they market it now as "unlimited" plan.

VOLTE is default, maybe not a few years ago. However, hotspot is typically not enabled and you have to chat with CS to enable.
