Nintendo keeps their prices up - nothing we can really do about that :/
True - it's not up to anybody here to determine pricing...but it just doesn't make it feel 'slick' when it's a price that has been available on and off 5 times in the past 6 weeks.

My antidote with Nintendo was finding a new hobby. I found digital books more appealing and cost effective. Nintendo has been pumping games but pricing themselves too high. Not talking about worthy games but like Mario vs Donkey Kong? $50? C'mon that's a $30 msrp SD $10-$15 game. Not every game has to be $50. That's greed. Their strategy was to kill emulation and jack price up. That cured my video game addiction. Now I read on weekends.
These should be $19.99 by now. Not every Nintendo game is an evergreen title. I get that Mario Kart and Smash continue selling at full price but none of these games are selling squat anymore and the prices still won't come down.

As long as people keep buying them for these prices, Nintendo will happily sell them at these prices. They used to do "Nintendo Selects" starting from the SNES all the way up to the WiiU (under different names, but same concept). They finally realized they do not have to do that with this generation as people will buy them up regardless. They've sold essentially the same Mario Kart game for 10 years now and that thing still only goes as low as 40 bucks in most every situation.
As a video game enthusiast and collector, this has been Nintendo's most recent trend with their 1st and 2nd Party titles this generation. They have not needed to devalue their games due to the increased popularity of video game collecting and FOMO of games going out of print and becoming rare along with COVID inflated buying during 2020 to 2023. The same thing that brought you here to find deals (aka internet) is the same thing keeping Nintendo games steadily being sold at no lower than 29.99-39.99 for their tentpole franchises.
Lots of you tubers consistently make content on games to get before become rare along with hyping up Nintendo games to buy and keep, etc. if you want to blame anyone, blame the internet, resellers, video game collectors and influencers pushing this generation of collecting games due to potential value increase and FOMO buying. If you do that you have to also be okay with all the amazing deals you can also buy these games at Walmart for 10.00 on the off chance they choose to clearance out a whole lot of games as well. The internet is neither good or bad, it just is. This is the new normal, so get used to it and keep checking back periodically on the off chance you might see the legendary 5.-20 dollar prices on Nintendo switch games at Walmart. I feel their will be another opportunity before end of summer
