They have been doing that for ages, I honestly thought at one point there was a class action against them, I know harbor freight got in trouble for the same thing years ago

Amazon frequently changes which seller gets highlighted in the "buy box", based largely on price. So if it doesn't show as ships from and sold by Amazon, it is always a good idea to check the seller's reputation and maybe find one that is better even if it might cost a little more.

Sure, but it's never, not at a single point, been selling at $400, or anywhere near there. I don't think the kit retail is over $400.
It's just very misleading to advertise a fake MSRP
