MSRP has never been $400+ for the bare tool. I'm not sure why Amazon is allowing inflated and misleading MSRP base prices to trick consumers into thinking a sale or discount is more significant than it actually is.

They have been doing that for ages, I honestly thought at one point there was a class action against them, I know harbor freight got in trouble for the same thing years ago

I'd highly recommend clicking "view other sellers" and ordering straight from Amazon for $175 instead of using the scammy looking vendor, "PRIME (WE REPORT RETURN FRAUD)", that has it at $172.

I bought this gun as a gift for someone in Jan 2023. They're really happy with it, but they've never used other brands to compare it. I gave $155 for it back then. It's a good tool if you're in the Makita line.

Amazon frequently changes which seller gets highlighted in the "buy box", based largely on price. So if it doesn't show as ships from and sold by Amazon, it is always a good idea to check the seller's reputation and maybe find one that is better even if it might cost a little more.

Sure, but it's never, not at a single point, been selling at $400, or anywhere near there. I don't think the kit retail is over $400.

It's just very misleading to advertise a fake MSRP
