It's great deal, thanks OP for sharing!
Beware that the cartridge doesn't contain any games. They need to be downloaded and Nintendo recommend at least 32GB free storage, but the cartridge is still required for gameplay.

This is my favorite game series. I highly recommend playing it and this $20 collection on Switch is worth it just to have the games portable, even if you have the collection elsewhere.

It's a good collection and I hope they blow our minds with a Vol 2 containing MGS4.

Here is info I sourced from reddit threads:

Metal Gear (MSX2, 1987 | 2005 Subsistence Port)
Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (MSX2, 1990 | 2005 Subsistence Port)
*b Metal Gear (NES, 1987 | Nintendo Port of "Metal Gear" on MSX2)
*b Snake's Revenge (NES, 1990 | Sequel to NES version of "Metal Gear")
Metal Gear Solid (PS, 1998)
Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS2, 2001 | 2011 HD Edition)
Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2, 2004 | 2011 HD Edition)
b Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel (PSP, 2008 | Motion Comic retelling of MGS1)
b Metal Gear Solid 2: Digital Graphic Novel (PSP, 2008 | Motion Comic retelling of MGS2)
b Digital Soundtrack

* = Not a Hideo Kojima Game

b = Master Collection Bonus Content (Only received when buying the Master Collection. Will not receive bonus content when you buy games on shops individually)

The HD collection games that the Master Collection contains ports of are in fact the Substance & Subsistence versions of MGS2 / MGS3, however there are a couple features that were removed from the PS2 versions due to licensing issues (since they were either IPs held by other companies, or promotional content for other games)

MGS2

All features of Substance are present with the exception of the Snake Skateboarding mini-game, which was a promotional mini-game for a PS2 game called Evolution Skateboarding, and had a separate game engine.

MGS3

The Snake vs. Monkey, Boss Duel and Online modes were excluded, as well as the Guy Savage minigame.
Snake Vs Monkey was a promotion for Ape Escape, a Sony IP which they wouldn't let be on other platforms - and due to content parity clauses in most contracts (Valve, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo), it's unlikely to ever come back
Online Mode - Servers were shut down decades ago sadly, would've loved it.
Guy Savage was a cancelled prototype for Zone of Enders 3 and had a separate game engine.

Ideally, you should play in release order:

* Metal Gear (MSX, not NES) (less than 5 hours long)

If too old for you, can be skipped (watch the Kefka Productions 17 minutes movie or read a summary whether it's on Wikia (watch out for potential spoilers and don't click any link) or in MGS1 Previous Missions), if you decide to play it, use a map

* Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake (less than 5 hours long)

Shouldn't be skipped, because it will affect your appreciation of MGS1, but if it's too old for you skip it (watch the Kefka Productions 60 minutes movie or read a summary whether it's on Wikia (watch out for potential spoilers and don't click any link) or in MGS1 Previous Missions), if you decide to play it, use a map

* Metal Gear Solid 1 (around 10 hours long)

You can either choose to play the original PS1 version or the GameCube remake (The Twin Snakes), most seem to prefer the original (watch the briefing files before starting the game, there is also a secret scene if you back out of the briefing right away)

* Metal Gear: Ghost Babel (not canon, but good game, referenced in next entries, part of fan theories) (not in Master Collection)

* Metal Gear Solid 2 (around 15 hours long)

* Metal Gear Solid 3 (around 20 hours long)

* Metal Gear Ac!d (not canon, turn based tactical card game) (not in master collection) (PSP Game)

* Metal Gear Ac!d 2 (not canon, turn based tactical card game) (not in master collection) (PSP Game)

Ac!d games can be played if you like the genre

* Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops (around 10 hours long) (not in master collection) (PSP Game)

Mostly canon, more retconned than other entries, but good game, can be longer depending on if you do the side missions or not

* Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops Plus (don't bother) (not in master collection) (PSP Game)

* Metal Gear Solid Mobile (not canon as far as I know, try it for yourself) (not in master collection) (old phone game)

* Metal Gear Ac!d Mobile (light version of the Ac!d games, not bad, but don't bother unless you like the genre) (not in master collection) (old phone game)

* Metal Gear Solid 4 (around 20 hours long) (not in master collection) (PS3 Game)

Great game but not on modern hardware. Even emulation isn't a good solution. Basically only on PS3.

* Metal Gear Solid Touch (don't bother) (not in master collection) (old iphone game)

* Metal Gear Solid Peace Waker (around 25 hours long) (not in master collection) (PSP Game) (rereleased in HD, good game)

Can be and should be (it's good) much longer if you really play the game

* Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (around 15 hours long) (not in master collection) (PS3/360/Windows Game)

Mostly not canon, can be played after 4 (but before GZ for some references), good game, do not skip

* Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes (around 3 hours long) (not in master collection) (PS4/Xbone/PC)

Do not skip, it's a prologue, not a demo. Can take 10 to 20 hours to complete at 100%

* Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain (not in master collection) (PS4/Xbone/PC Game) Unfinished final game of the series so far.

* Metal Gear Survive (don't bother)

Lame. The whole appeal of Switch carts is they actually have games on them, unlike PS/Xbox where the whole thing needs to be installed.

"Master" collection doesn't include the expanded versions of each game.
Can you elaborate on what is missing?
