If the store would be Number #1 A-OK Super Terrific Store with a Chinese address. I would be wary.
Samsung looks like is the only one that still has S90C 55" in stock at $1300. Amazon has some open boxes that Amazon Warehouse wants $1400+ for. That's what I mean, 55" is so rare there's no deals on it, even at $1300 from Samsung, it is more expensive than this 65" from bydig. I really want to pull a trigger on that 55, but it hurts when I know Costco was selling 65" a few weeks ago for $1350 with 5 years of warranty.
Maybe the play is to just wait half a year and get S90D for this price. Looks like it's already selling at $1700 and you can get it for $1613 off Greentoe. Hopefully Samsung will produce more 55" OLED TVs this year so we don't have a shortage and can get some deals on them.
EDIT: Studying last years pricing, it looks like new models start off insanely highly priced and then by October/November prices come down to their lowest points and that becomes the new normal price until stock is gone. So if my prediction is correct, by November or Christmas at the latest, we should be able to get S90D 55" for $1300.
EDIT 2: $1300 for 55 S90D is still a bummer since it's nearly identical to S90C. Samsung didn't really do any improvements to it. You're still paying more for 55 than for 65.
That whole more money for smaller sizes always annoys me. I bought the 42 inch sony. FORTY. TWO. And it was $1299. And it's a TWO YEAR old model. So more expensive for a 2 year old 42 model woled than last year's 65 inch qd-oled. And I have tod ecide whether or not to return it. I planned to get one very small and one either 55 or 65. But would be ncie to only have to have one tv for everything, which 44 would maybe be ok for.
