Costco has a $350 savings decent deal on this 14" Touchscreen 2-in-1 Windows 11 Intel 13 gen i5 laptop.. The soldered 16GB Ram is the downside but overall for a price below $500, it is a decent one for college, home/general users, backup & travel laptop usage etc. For Costco members, you get a 2% additional savings of $9 during checkout.

How does this compare to this deal for $600: HP Envy 2-in-1 Laptop 14" FHD IPS Touch Sreen, i7-150U, 16GB LPDDR4, 512GB SSD. I've kept the HP over any other deal so far since I bought it on 5/15 but I think this one is a better deal...buying for an incoming college freshman business major so mainly Microsoft Office and web browsing, no gaming. I've been studying these deals for too long but I think the HP just has a better processor while this Lenovo has better screen (I think), better warranty from Costco (and 90 day return so I can keep shopping), fingerprint reader, and Thunderbolt (whatever that is). Any thoughts if the HP is $150 better? Appreciate any insight as I'm still using my 12+ year old Dell desktop for home office work and a 5+ year old HP laptop for work so don't have much experience buying new computers. Thanks.

Lenovo has a bunch of decent spec laptops with horrible colors. Teal, blue, etc. I don't get it.

Core i7 > Core i5, but...
1200 > 1080

My personal opinion: the processor is more important than the slightly higher resolution for the sake of productivity. I'm partial to HP laptops as well.

lol, sounds like we are both in the same situation, minus the HPdeal…
I think the HP is the better computer, you just have to decide if it's worth the $150 + Costco benefits.

I plan on trying to see this in store on Tuesday, hoping they have them.

Had a similar Lenovo laptop, and the board gave up the ghost a month ago. Owned the laptop for a few years with very minimal use. Apparently, it is a pretty common issue with Lenovo laptops. Buyer be warned.

interesting, appreciate you pointing that out.

Hearing this actually makes me lean more towards this deal though 😂
Costco extends the warranty, and it's the cheapest of the laptops I've looked at. Knowing I'll get at least two years covered out of it at this price, is at least a little reassuring.

An incoming college freshman…so 18-19? And you think no gaming? C'mon dad. Get the boy a mid tier gaming laptop and call it a day. It'll have plenty of power and then that little extra, so even the small tasks won't be tedious. Cuz all work and no play…

When opened in laptop mode, does the bottom of the screen extend down past the base? I have a 2in1 now that does this and it digs into my legs, making it very uncomfortable to use as an actual laptop.
