For what it's worth, this model has not been tested by the Virginia Tech helmet testing lab.

Legitimate places like Best Buy are not selling items that have an active recall. If they ever had any, they'd've been pulled from inventory long ago.

It's not, and AFAIK a store can't knowingly sell a recalled product.

Looks like the strap anchor point was defective. You can always check your helmet before use by giving the strap a strong tug.
