The Wonderboom 3 has bass extension that's only down to 76hz with a -10db rolloff, and has boosted 90hz upper bass to compensate. Most other speakers in that size range easily reach down to 60hz or lower. It is one of the worst in the size category for bass extension. There's many less expensive speakers that sound significantly better and are cheaper too.

In the ranking of speakers that I maintain which currently has a total of 319 speakers in it, the Wonderboom 3 ranks #77 out of 107 small/medium size speakers [reddit.com]

You should also consider the $50 Earfun Uboom L, $65 Soundcore Motion 300, $60 Soundcore Boost, or $36 Miatone Boompro, $47 Mifa Wildrod or many other speakers which will all have deeper bass extension and a much more balanced frequency response.

The Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 3 Speaker has earned excellent ratings from multiple reviews, including being listed by Rtings in their category of "Best Bluetooth Speaker Under $100 [rtings.com]" (link to review [rtings.com]).

This is a good deal, but it isn't that much lower than its regular price. The $99.99 list price is exaggerated at this point; the price made more sense when it was initially released in August 2022.

This product in Black color is currently $68.63 as sold and shipped by Amazon. Its lowest historical price seems to be $59.99, back in November 2023. Its average price is $71.03.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

How is this compared to the JBL Clip 4? I am contemplating between the 2. Thanks. (sry if this is not appropriate to ask in this forum - I've been mostly a reader)

The sound is far superior imo. Sound never cracks and the bass sounds great for a small speaker. I've also taken mine into the pool, it floats. I have the wonderboom 2 and the JBL clip 3.

Ultimate Cristian sound bar. That cross can not be unseen
I also noticed that years ago. I don't think Ultimate Ears - now owned by Logitech - has said anything specifically about whether the plus and minus symbols are supposed to resemble a cross. That said, their blog [ultimateears.com]'s 3 top articles are titled:
  • Making the Switch: 3 Reasons to Move to In-Ear Monitors for Houses of Worship
  • How to Live Stream a Church Service with a Live Band
  • How to Set Up a Silent Stage in Your House of Worship
Just posting information for those who are curious,

It seems like every one of their products has that marking.

Are those cap-touch volume controls, or some kind of signaling?

Kinda lame that if you add more than 1, the price per speaker increases. The code will split into -$10 from each speaker (vs. -$20 from 1). Increases the per speaker price to $68, and any additional speakers added average out to $68/ea as well

edit: It let me place two separate orders to get -$20 off each, and still free shipping...so, kinda dumb but at least I could keep the $60 price per item

Those are volume control buttons; this image [ultimateears.com] shows the product's specifications (source [ultimateears.com]).

Whether it's a signaling or some type or not, I do not know. I posted a bit about that earlier in this thread.

Take care,

I've just started getting cables with magnetic tips for everything and leaving the tips in the device. Then I never have to worry about what plug a device has...
